KPSEA Prediction Papers 2026: A Straight Guide for Parents

KPSEA is entirely multiple choice, shaded on a personalised answer sheet. That changes what a prediction paper is for, and how your child should practise with one.

KPSEA Prediction Papers 2026: A Straight Guide for Parents

KPSEA 2026 runs from Monday 26 to Wednesday 28 October, with the rehearsal on Friday 23 October. Every paper is multiple choice, shaded in pencil on a personalised answer sheet.

That single fact changes what a prediction paper is for. In KPSEA, technique is worth as much as knowledge, because a child who knows the answer can still score nothing if the sheet is filled in wrongly.

Important: These are independent revision and prediction materials written for exam preparation. They are not leaked or official KNEC examination papers, and no question is guaranteed to appear in the actual national assessment.

What a KPSEA prediction paper should give you

A useful KPSEA prediction paper does three things:

  • Uses the same question count and timing as the real paper, so pacing is trained.
  • Comes with a printable answer grid, so the shading itself is practised.
  • Keeps the answers separate, so a child cannot glance at them mid-paper.

If the answers are printed under the questions, it is a worked example, not a practice paper. Both have a place, but only one tells you what your child can do alone.

Practise the answer sheet, not just the syllabus

Most families practise content and never practise the sheet. The errors that cost the most marks are mechanical:

  • Two bubbles shaded on one row after a change of mind, read as no answer.
  • Skipping a question on the paper but not on the sheet, putting every later answer one row out.
  • Shading too faintly for the reader to register.
  • Leaving blanks, when there is no negative marking and a guess is free.

Our guide to the shading mistakes that cost marks covers this in full, including the ruler trick that makes losing the line almost impossible.

How to run one at home

  1. Start at 8.30am on a Saturday, because that is when the real paper starts.
  2. Use the printed answer grid and two HB pencils.
  3. Keep to the exact duration. Stop when time is up, even mid question.
  4. Mark from the separate answer booklet and count the blanks separately from the wrong answers.
  5. Talk through the wrong answers. Ask your child to explain why they chose what they chose.

That last step is where the learning is. In a multiple choice paper, the reason behind a wrong choice is more useful than the right answer.

Two papers in one morning

Monday and Tuesday each carry two papers with a break between. A child who has only ever practised one paper at a time will find the second one much harder. Practise the pairing at least twice, as covered in our guide to timing the English and Kiswahili papers.

Where to get them

The KPSEA Complete Revision Course covers all five papers with full notes, three predictive papers per paper in the KPSEA multiple choice format, and a separate answer booklet.

Also worth checking before October: the SBA scores that shape KPSEA are already banked, and a score that was never uploaded is invisible until results day.
