KJSEA written papers run Monday 26 to Friday 30 October and KPSEA runs 26 to 28 October, with the national rehearsal on Friday 23 October. From now until the last paper, parents will be offered "leaked KJSEA papers" and "KPSEA 2026 papers PDF" in WhatsApp groups, on Telegram and on TikTok. This guide explains why every one of those offers is a scam, what it can cost your child, and what genuine practice papers actually look like.
Everything in the KJSEA and KPSEA courses, in 80 seconds.
Why "leaked KJSEA 2026 papers" do not exist for sale
KNEC papers are printed and moved under security, and they are opened in the exam room on the morning they are sat. Nobody selling a PDF on WhatsApp a month before the exam has them. What they have is one of three things: an old paper with the year changed, a school mock copied from somewhere else, or nothing at all once your M-Pesa payment goes through.
Every national exam season in Kenya brings the same wave of these offers, and the pattern is always the same: urgency ("only 20 copies left"), a request to pay a personal number rather than a till or paybill, and a sample page that proves nothing. Treat any offer of "the real paper" as a scam, full stop.
How to tell a scam from a genuine practice paper
| What you are offered | What it really is | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "KJSEA 2026 leaked papers, confirmed" | A scam. The real papers are not in circulation before the exam | Do not pay. Leave the group if it keeps appearing |
| "Pay to this number, send screenshot" | A personal line with no receipt trail you can use | Only pay a business till or paybill that issues an M-Pesa confirmation in the business name |
| "Answers to tomorrow's paper" during exam week | A scam, and a risk to your child's results | Report it to the school. Do not forward it |
| "Predictive papers" or "prediction papers" | Practice papers written in the KNEC format, not the real exam | Fine to use, if the seller says clearly that they are practice papers |
| "KNEC sample papers" | Official samples KNEC publishes to show the format | Use them. They show the question types, not this year's questions |
What it can cost your child, not just your money
Losing KSh 500 to a fake PDF is the small risk. The bigger one is a child who believes they have seen the paper, stops revising, and walks into a paper that looks nothing like what they memorised. That costs far more marks than any gap in their notes.
There is also the question of exam malpractice. Carrying or sharing material that claims to be a live paper during the exam period can put a candidate in trouble with the centre, and KNEC takes malpractice seriously. Keep your child well away from it, and tell them plainly that anyone offering the paper is lying.
What genuine practice papers look like
A real practice paper is honest about what it is. It follows the published format for each paper, it comes with a separate marking scheme so the learner can check their own work, and it is sold by a business you can trace. Here is how the 2026 KJSEA papers are structured, so you can check anything you are offered against it:
| Day (KJSEA 2026) | Papers |
|---|---|
| Monday 26 October | 901/1 English Language, 901/2 Composition and Literary Analysis |
| Tuesday 27 October | 902/1 Kiswahili Lugha, 902/2 Insha na Utangulizi wa Fasihi |
| Wednesday 28 October | 903 Mathematics, 906/1 Agriculture (written) |
| Thursday 29 October | 905/1 Integrated Science, 907 Social Studies, 911/2 Creative Arts and Sports (written) |
| Friday 30 October | 912/1 Pre-Technical Studies (written), 908/909/910 CRE, IRE or HRE, 905/2 Integrated Science (practical based) |
KPSEA is all multiple choice, shaded in pencil: Mathematics and English on Monday 26 October, Integrated Science and Kiswahili on Tuesday 27 October, and Creative Arts and Social Studies on Wednesday 28 October. The full detail is in our KJSEA 2026 dates and revision hub and the KPSEA 2026 hub.
The practice papers families are actually buying
Our papers are labelled as what they are: predictive practice papers in the KNEC format, with the answers in a separate booklet so a child cannot glance at them while working. These are the packs Kenyan parents have bought most in the last two weeks:
| Pack | What is inside | Price |
|---|---|---|
| KJSEA Grade 9 Complete Course | All nine learning areas: full notes for Grades 7 to 9, predictive papers and separate answer booklets | KSh 400 |
| KPSEA Grade 6 Complete Course | All five KPSEA papers: full notes for Grades 4 to 6, three predictive papers per paper, separate answer booklets | KSh 300 |
| KJSEA Mathematics 903 | Notes, predictive papers and a full marking scheme for the paper most families worry about | KSh 150 |
| KJSEA Social Studies 907 | Notes, predictive papers and marking scheme | KSh 150 |
| Grade 9 Term 3 Complete Bundle | Every Grade 9 learning area with notes, revision papers, end of term exams and marking schemes | KSh 300 |
Payment is by M-Pesa STK push, the confirmation comes from the business, and the download link arrives on the page and by email straight away. That is the standard any seller should meet.
How to use practice papers in the last four weeks
- One timed paper at a time. Sit it in the real time allowed, at a table, with the phone in another room.
- Mark it together with the separate answer booklet. Our guide on how to use prediction papers sets out the method.
- Revise the gaps, not the whole book. The questions a child gets wrong tell you exactly which sub-strands to go back to.
- Plan the exam week itself. See what to carry and what is not allowed.
The short version: nobody has the paper. A child who has practised honestly in the right format, and checked their own work against a marking scheme, walks in ready for whatever KNEC has set.
