<p>Misitu ni muhimu sana kwa maisha ya binadamu na viumbe vyote duniani. Kenya ina misitu mingi kama vile Msitu wa Mau, Msitu wa Aberdare, na Msitu wa Mt. Kenya ambayo ni muhimu sana.</p>
<p>Kwanza, misitu hutoa hewa ya oksijeni ambayo binadamu anahitaji kupumua. Miti pia hufyonza gesi ya kaboni dioksidi ambayo ni hatari kwa hali ya hewa. Hivyo, misitu husaidia kudhibiti hali ya hewa duniani.</p>
<p>Pili, misitu ni chanzo kikuu cha maji. Miti huhifadhi maji kwenye mizizi yake na kuruhusu maji kupita polepole kwenye ardhi, hivyo kudumisha mito na maziwa. Msitu wa Mau, kwa mfano, ni chanzo cha mto Nile na mito mingine mingi ya Kenya.</p>
<p>Tatu, misitu ni makazi ya wanyama na mimea mingi. Mara nyingi wanyama wanapoteza makazi yao wanapokufa misitu. Hii inasababisha kutoweka kwa aina nyingi za wanyama na mimea.</p>
