Starting this week, CBC Edu Kenya runs live online classes with real teachers for two groups of learners: CBC (CBE) learners in Grades 4 to 9, and IGCSE candidates preparing for the October/November session. Not recorded videos, not worksheets sent on WhatsApp: an actual teacher, live on the screen, with your child speaking, asking and practising in real time.
Enrolment is open now, the timetable is live, and the first classes run this week. Here is everything a parent needs to know, including exactly what it costs.
Why live tutoring beats videos
Recorded lessons have one fatal weakness: they cannot answer your child's question. The moment a learner gets stuck, a video keeps playing and the confusion compounds. In a live class, your child asks the question they were afraid to ask at school, and it gets answered on the spot.
Live classes also create accountability. A class at 5 PM on Wednesday is an appointment; a video "to watch later" is a good intention. Reminders and class links arrive automatically by email, and every learner gets a personal dashboard at My Classes with one-tap join links. Classes open in the Chrome browser on any phone, tablet or laptop: no app, no account, and a normal data bundle is enough.
CBC Online Tutoring (Grades 4 to 9): 4 live sessions a week
Live evening classes taught by qualified Kenyan teachers, KICD-aligned and focused on KPSEA and KJSEA success. Every plan includes 4 live sessions a week, and after each session your child downloads further reading notes from their dashboard, so the learning continues between classes. You are only choosing how you want to pay:
- Basic Plan: KSh 3,000 per week. 4 sessions, billed weekly. Best for getting started; upgrade anytime.
- Standard Plan: KSh 6,000 per two weeks. 8 sessions. The most popular choice: a steady rhythm without weekly payments.
- Premium Plan: KSh 12,000 per month. 16 sessions. Complete learning support through the KPSEA and KJSEA run-up.
Classes run in the evening (from 5 PM EAT), after school and before supper. Subjects on the current timetable include Mathematics, English and Integrated Science for Grades 7 to 9, with more groups opening as they fill. See the live timetable and enrol at cbcedukenya.com/cbc-tutoring.
IGCSE Live Training: 4 live sessions a week
Exam-focused coaching for Cambridge IGCSE candidates: live sessions that follow the syllabus and drill real past-paper questions with mark-scheme thinking, with further reading notes to download after every session. Subjects include Mathematics (0580), English First Language (0500), Biology (0610), Chemistry (0620), Physics (0625) and Business Studies (0450).
- Single Session: KSh 2,000. Try one class, or add extra sessions to any plan at the same rate.
- Standard Plan: KSh 6,000 per week. 4 sessions a week. Ideal for consistent improvement.
- Advanced Plan: KSh 12,000 per two weeks. 8 sessions. Strong preparation, better results.
- Intensive Plan: KSh 24,000 per month. 16 sessions. Maximum exam preparation for October/November candidates.
- Elite Plan: from KSh 30,000 per month. 5 to 6 sessions a week, all subjects covered, priority 1-on-1 support, detailed marking and class recordings.

How enrolment works (two minutes, honestly)
- Pick your plan on the CBC or IGCSE page and pay by M-Pesa.
- We confirm your class times on WhatsApp within 24 hours. Your plan starts counting from your first attended session, not from the payment date, so you lose nothing by enrolling today.
- Join live. Reminder emails with one-tap links arrive before each class; your child's full timetable lives on their My Classes dashboard.
New students get a free preview class, there is no registration fee, and you can cancel anytime. Small class sizes mean more interaction and more attention; private arrangements are available on WhatsApp.
Make the classes count double
Live teaching works best alongside structured practice at home. CBC families pair the classes with the KJSEA Grade 7-9 Complete Revision Course (KSh 400, all 9 subjects) or the KPSEA Grade 4-6 Complete Course (KSh 300). IGCSE candidates should add the IGCSE Countdown Bundle for topicals and timed papers between sessions.
Ready to start? Enrol at cbc-tutoring or igcse-training, or simply WhatsApp +254 711 344 702 with your child's grade and subjects, and we will enrol you in two minutes. October is close; a live class every week changes everything.
