Grade 9 is the exit point of Junior Secondary. The cumulative assessment across Grade 7–9 determines:

- Which subjects they can take in Grade 10–12
- Their overall competency profile as assessed by CBA standards
Unlike the old KCPE which was a single exam, CBC (now CBE) assesses learners continuously — but the Grade 9 end-of-year assessment carries significant weight. Strong performance in Term 1, 2, and 3 exams matters.
How to Use Revision Papers Effectively
- Do the paper under exam conditions. Set a timer. No textbook. No phone.
- Mark it honestly. Use the marking scheme to mark your own paper. Identify where marks were lost.
- Revise the gaps. For every question you got wrong, go back to the notes for that topic and study it again.
- Redo after 3 days. Try the same paper again after a few days. You should score higher the second time.
- Move to the next paper. Once you consistently score 70%+, move to the next subject.
