3. Sports & Recreation

Physical skills and technique across athletics and games, but also the theory side: rules, officiating basics, and increasingly, understanding of fitness and the value of physical activity. A common gap is learners who are genuinely skilled athletes but have never revised the written, rules-based side of this strand.

4. Indigenous Crafts

Traditional Kenyan and African craft techniques and their cultural context, materials used, and the skills involved in producing them. This strand rewards learners who can connect a craft to its cultural background, not just describe how it is made.

Assessment blends practical work, portfolio evidence built up over the term, and written questions.
