Today we\'re opening a new service: on-site AI training for Kenyan schools. Three focused offerings β Teacher CPD workshops, Student AI Literacy talks, and Leadership AI Strategy sessions β all built from Kenya\'s CBC context, all delivered by our team to your school\'s campus or online. Packages from KSH 15,000. Read on for why this exists, or jump straight to the service page.
Why this exists
Over the last several months we\'ve had the same conversation in too many Kenyan schools. A principal or ICT coordinator describes a problem that goes something like this:
"Our Form 3 class hands in essays that don\'t sound like them anymore. Our best Maths teacher uses ChatGPT for her lesson plans β brilliantly β but the other 15 teachers feel left behind. We don\'t have an AI policy. Parents are starting to ask questions. The TSC hasn\'t told us what to do. And I, the principal, have genuinely never used ChatGPT myself. Where do we even start?"
This is the entirely reasonable state of most Kenyan schools in 2026. AI went from "future problem" to "today problem" faster than any CPD system in the world could adjust. The TSC is mid-reform, KICD has not issued AI guidance, and individual schools are left to figure it out with no official roadmap.
The good news: the solution is not complicated. Most schools need three discrete things, delivered once, and then they can run their own AI journey internally from there. That\'s what we now offer.
The three services β what you can book today
1. Teacher AI Training Workshop β KSH 25,000
One-day workshop for up to 30 teaching staff, delivered on-site or online. Most schools book this first because it\'s the highest-impact intervention. Content:
- What AI actually is (plain language β no jargon, no mathematics)
- Hands-on practice: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, for lesson planning
- Hands-on practice: drafting report-card comments, parent emails, assessment rubrics
- How to detect AI-assisted student work (and when to allow it)
- AI tools for marking, assessment, and admin time-savings
- Ethics, bias, hallucinations β what to teach learners about AI
- Take-home: a ready-to-adapt AI Use Policy template for your school
Your teachers will leave this session doing things on a Monday morning they couldn\'t do on Friday afternoon. One well-run workshop typically saves every participating teacher 3β5 hours per week thereafter. At 30 staff that\'s 90β150 recovered teaching hours per week, for the price of a single day\'s training.
2. Student AI Literacy Session β KSH 15,000
90-minute assembly-style talk for up to 300 students, plus a 15-minute Q&A. Age-tailored β we run slightly different versions for Grade 7β9 vs Grade 10β12. Content:
- How AI actually works (simple, age-appropriate, no hand-waving)
- Using AI for homework without cheating β the honest framework
- Spotting AI-generated content and online misinformation
- AI careers β what to study, what\'s coming, which skills matter
- Interactive live demonstration (students call out prompts, we show what happens)
- Optional: split into Grade 7β9 and Grade 10β12 sessions if your school spans both
This is the session that changes how your students talk about AI in the corridors for the rest of term. Demystifying AI is half the safeguarding job β once students understand it, they stop trying to "beat" it and start trying to use it well.
3. Leadership AI Strategy Session β KSH 18,000
Half-day session with your principal, ICT head, and deputy head. Strategic, not technical. Content:
- School-wide AI policy β what to ban, allow, require (and how to decide)
- Where AI saves staff hours (admin, scheduling, reports, parent comms)
- Parent communication: positioning and reassurance when questions come in
- Procurement: which AI tools are worth paying for, which are free, which to avoid
- Safeguarding and data protection (Kenya DPA 2019 applies to how AI handles student data)
- 12-month rollout roadmap, tailored to your school\'s context
This is the session that produces a document your Board of Governors can read, your PTA can discuss, and your staff can execute. You walk out with a plan, not just inspiration.
Full School Package β KSH 50,000 (save KSH 8,000)
All three sessions delivered over 1β2 days. Most comprehensive option. The pricing logic: if you book all three separately the cost is KSH 58,000. Bundled it\'s KSH 50,000 β we pass the logistical efficiency back to you as a saving.
Who this is for
We\'ve intentionally designed the three services to work for every type of Kenyan school β not just elite private institutions.
- Public schools & academies: CBC-aligned content, practical for large-class realities. Special rates available for rural public schools β mention your context in the proposal request.
- Private & international schools: Higher-depth sessions for 8-4-4, CBC, IGCSE, and IB staff. We work with Cambridge-aligned schools and understand the different exam-system contexts.
- Teacher Training Colleges: Train your future teachers on AI before they enter classrooms. Half-day or full-day modules, easy to slot into existing teacher-prep curricula.
- County Education Offices: Train a cohort of lead teachers across multiple schools in one day. We\'ve designed multi-school training days.
The process β what actually happens after you reply
We\'ve kept the process deliberately simple, because we know school leaders\' time is scarce. From your first message to the workshop happening at your school, the flow is:
- You submit an inquiry via the form or email
cbcedukenya@gmail.comdirectly. Tell us your school name, staff or student numbers, and which service interests you. We respond within 24 hours β usually same day. - Free 15-minute discovery call with your principal or ICT head. We learn your specific context, the staff size, your goals. No sales pressure β this is an information call.
- Tailored proposal arrives within 48 hours. Fixed-fee quote, agreed date options, payment terms (50% deposit, 50% on completion). Your school accounts office gets a proper tax invoice with our PIN.
- We deliver on the agreed date. On-site anywhere in Kenya (travel & accommodation billed at cost, transparently, on top of the session fee) or online via Zoom/Google Meet if your school prefers.
- 30 days of follow-up included. Your teachers keep asking us questions by email after the workshop. We answer.
Typical time from first email to workshop happening in your school: 2 weeks. Sometimes faster if you\'re flexible on dates.
What schools are asking (FAQ)
We\'re in a rural area β will you travel?
Yes. We travel to any county in Kenya. Travel and accommodation (if overnight) are billed at actual cost on top of the session fee β we show you the receipts. Alternatively, we can deliver online for schools with reliable internet; the session format adapts well to Zoom.
Do you offer discounts for public schools or multi-school bookings?
Yes. Public schools and county education offices typically receive 20β30% off list price. Multi-school bookings (3+ schools training together) get additional volume discounts. Mention your context in the proposal request and we\'ll quote accordingly.
Can we invoice and pay through the school accounts system?
Absolutely. We issue a proper tax invoice (PIN-registered) that your school\'s accounts office can process as a normal supplier payment. 50% deposit (M-Pesa, bank transfer, or cheque) confirms the booking; 50% is due on completion. For government-funded schools we\'re flexible on timing to match the funding calendar.
What if we just want the AI Use Policy template, not the full workshop?
That\'s exactly what we offer if you only book the Leadership AI Strategy session (KSH 18,000). It produces a policy document tailored to your school, with stakeholder discussion guidance. Many schools start there and book the teacher workshop later.
How soon can we book?
Our calendar fills about 2β3 weeks out. If you reach out today, you\'ll be training by early May. For Term 2 readiness, the sooner you reach out the better.
A related product launched today β free for any teacher to try
Alongside this service, we\'ve also just opened the preview of Somo AI β a CBC-native AI tutor your teachers can try right now, free, without any booking. Five questions per day, no signup. It\'s a reasonable "see what AI-for-education actually looks like" before you decide whether a workshop makes sense.

The honest sales pitch
Schools hiring us to train their teachers on AI are not buying a product β they\'re buying a month of their staff\'s time back, and a month of policy clarity, and a month of parent reassurance, all compressed into one day of training.
In 2027 when the next wave of AI changes happens β and it will β your school will either be the one saying "we trained our staff in 2026, we\'re ready" or the one saying "we\'re still figuring out the last one." We built this service to put as many Kenyan schools as possible in the first category.
If that resonates, you know what to do. Reply to this article, email us, or open the service page and use the form. We\'ll respond within 24 hours β usually same day.
